Dougie Lampkin at the Erzberg: "On the podium I would be very happy!"
In 2010 Dougie Lampkin finished third at the Erzberg. In 2011 – handicapped by an injury – Lampkin finished second. In 2012 he at least wants to reach the podium again.

IG.G: How hard is the "Hare Scrambe" compared to other top events..?

Dougie Lampkin: Erzberg is one of the biggest races in the Extreme calendar – because of the amount of riders. And the terrain is amazing, combining speed with the technical areas. It feels really hard and you feel like you have been riding all day. But the reality is just over two hours. So yes it's tough.

IG.G: What is important to succeed at Erzberg?

Dougie Lampkin: A good start is essential and to keep with the leaders and then really pick the best lines through the really tough areas and keep the bike moving all the time, when you stop its hard to get rolling again.

Dougie Lampkin: "Keep the bike moving…"

IG.G: Will you have a special training?

Dougie Lampkin: Unfortunately with my Trials work with the Gas Gas factory I have no time to ride the bike for training. So this year will be very tough for me.

IG.G: What are your expectations?

Dougie Lampkin: Firstly you always want to finish. To be on the podium I would be very happy.
