Never one to shy away from a challenge, GASGAS Factory Racing’s Andrea Verona will race this year’s Red Bull Erzbergrodeo onboard his GASGAS EC 350F. The young Italian has his sights set on a strong result in the Iron Road Prologue, before taking on the big one, the super-extreme Red Bull Erzbergrodeo on Sunday.

Andrea Verona: “I’m not sure how all this is going to work, but I’m going to give my absolute best as always! I visited Erzberg last year and loved the event, so with a free weekend, I thought why not. Obviously, the main race is a lot different to what we ride in EnduroGP, but I’m definitely pumped to ride the prologue – it’s a really cool race and should suit the 350 quite well. Going into Sunday’s race, I’m under no illusion how hard it’s going to be. My plan is to try my best and see where I end up. Of course, to finish a race like Erzberg would be amazing, but I’m really just going there for the experience and to have fun racing my bike. It’s what it’s all about.”

With a four-week gap between rounds four and five of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship, Verona was looking for something to keep himself busy! So, what better than taking on one of the world’s toughest extreme enduros?

Andrea Verona visited the iconic Austrian event last year as a spectator and caught the Erzberg bug. This year he plans to attack the prologue, before giving his best in the insanely tough Red Bull Erzbergrodeo extreme race. With no time to set up and train on a GASGAS EC 300 – a bike best suited to the massively rocky terrain – Verona will be riding his EnduroGP championship EC 350F. (source: gasgas)
