Taddy Blazusiak: "Better than I expected."
KTM Enduro Factory Team rider Taddy Blazusiak has made the perfect start to the defence of his FIM SuperEnduro World Championship by claiming a hat trick of race wins at round one of the 2014 series in Liverpool. Intent on getting his championship campaign off to the best possible start, Blazusiak won all three races inside the Echo Arena while also topping the Super Pole qualification session.

Arriving to Liverpool fresh from his victory at the penultimate round of the AMA EnduroCross series, the KTM rider quickly got up to speed around the technical Liverpool course. Topping the Super Pole qualification by over half a second, the Polish rider secured first pick for the start. Taking an inside gate position for Final #1, the KTM rider grabbed the all-important holeshot and took a comfortable start-to-finish victory.

With the start order reversed for Final #2, the defending champion opted to start on the outside of the second row. Finding a clear piece of track, Blazusiak immediately worked his way inside the top three. Hunting down race leader Dani Gibert, he made a pass stick on the penultimate lap to take the win.
Taking the holeshot in the third and final race of the night, he avoided trouble and eased his way to a third victory. Securing maximum points – including an additional three points for topping the Super Pole – Blazusiak already holds an 18-point advantage over his nearest rival.

Taddy Blazusiak: “It’s been an incredible start to the SuperEnduro championship for me. Winning all three races and also topping the Super Pole has been better than I expected. In practice I was worried about my results as I struggled to find a good setup. The course was very technical and difficult to find a good line on. I knew my starts would be extremely important and tonight they didn’t let me down. I holeshot the first and last races and once out front I was pretty comfortable setting the pace. In Final #2 I somehow managed to find a few clear lines and get to the front of the pack. I got into the lead with about two laps to go and was able to win. Overall I’m really happy with how I rode tonight. Next weekend is the final round of the EnduroCross series in Las Vegas. I’m tied on points for the title so hopefully things will go my way and I can win championship number five.” (source: future 7 media)
