Blazusiak aiming to secure world title in France
KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak heads to the final round of the 2013 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in Tours, France this weekend as the clear series leader. Holding a commanding 29-point advantage over his nearest rival, Blazusiak is in the prime position of collecting a fourth consecutive indoor enduro world title.

Winning heats one and three at the penultimate round of the series in Barcelona, Spain to secure the overall victory on the night, the Polish rider proved that he is now fully recovered from his recent shoulder surgery. Sustaining a serious injury following a high-speed training crash before round one last December, Blazusiak’s title defence looked in serious doubt. But by delivering a determined performance at the series opener, and backing it up with a second winning performance at round two, he has never placed anywhere other than points leader.

Undergoing surgery between rounds one and two, the KTM rider has worked hard to return to full fitness. Entering Round two feeling more in tune with his bike, he was able to up his pace and further extend his advantage at the top of the championship. Making the most of the four weeks he’s had to prepare for the last round of the championship, Blazusiak is determined to end the short three-round series on a high.

Taddy Blazusiak: “I’m really looking forward to the final round of the series. With a 29-point lead in the championship it offers me a little breathing room over the other riders. I’ve been working hard on my fitness and now feel like my old self on a bike again. I’m back to full fitness again and feel ready to fight for the win. My main goal is to secure the title, which will be my fourth in total, but ideally it would be amazing to do that by winning all three races on the night. Hopefully that’s something I’ll be able to accomplish, but like I said the primary goal is to win the title. Considering the injuries I’ve had to deal with it’s been a tough series so to end it as the champion would be great.”
