Taddy claims Boise Endurocross victory
KTM/Red Bull rider Taddy Blazusiak continued his push for a fourth consecutive US Endurocross title with a winning performance at round seven of the 2012 series held in Boise, Idaho. With winning momentum behind him, Blazusiak once again showed the kind of form that has put him out front in the Endurocross title chase and topped the main event ahead of Cody Webb and Cory Graffunder.

The night wasn't without some mistakes from Taddy, who after topping his heat race made a poor start to the main event. Initially fifth as he exited the first turn, Taddy quickly moved into the runner-up position before taking the lead on lap two. Battling with Webb for several laps, Taddy started to open up an advantage at the font of the field before a simple but costly mistake on the last lap saw his lead all but disappear. Remaining out front, and with the chequered flag almost within touching distance, Taddy claimed the win and now needs just a handful of points from the championship's final event in Las Vegas to secure the 2012 US Endurocross title.

Taddy Blazusiak: "The course was really challenging. Not my favourite course this year, I prefer the racing to be a little more flowing and faster paced, but like all racers I have to do my best whatever. And winning, with my two closest championship rivals not even in the main event, was great. I made a mistake during my hot lap, which was frustrating, but I won my heat race so things were looking good for the final. The main event went pretty good. I didn't get the best of starts but I managed to pass some riders. I went from fifth to second in the second corner, which was a really big help. I had a good battle with Cody for a few laps but I felt like I was quite a bit faster, it was just a little risky to try and pass in a lot of places. I built up a good lead of about 20 seconds going into the last lap. I took a bad line in the tractor tyre corner and made a big mistake there, but I managed to win the race. I'm pleased I won the race but not happy with the mistake I made. I've got a 57-point lead going into the final round of the series, which is great. Knowing that I just need to make it into the main event to win the championship removes a lot of pressure, but still, I want to finish the year off with the best result possible."
